Support For:

  1. Classrooms and Schools
    • Bright Ideas Grant with a competitive process to award a number of grants in the spring of the school year with the intention that the funds be used the following school year. At the conclusion of the school year, the grant recipients will share outcomes, results, or project details with the Foundation Director, Board and the district. Showcase these success stories at Lunch and Learn events and in marketing materials.
    • School specific gifts and donations that advance achievement in the classroom and foster strong schools would belong in this category.
  2. Engaged Learning
    • In partnership with FranklinCovey, business and industry, The IMPACT Center for Leadership & Innovation will operate with a project based learning curriculum for leadership and six (6) fields of study, including robotics, engineering/industrial design, biomedical, AI and cyber systems, aeronautics, and design/visionary arts. The curriculum used at the IMPACT Center will be available at all WCPS high schools so as to be a resource for any student in the district that desires to explore project based learning.
    • Engaged Learning will be promoted at all schools in the form of clubs, activities, competitions, initiatives that allow students to practice technical and problem solving skills to be able to develop creative and critical thinking skills. These experiences can be in the form of (but not limited to) Robotics, STLP, stem and engineering clubs, KYA, and Beta Club. The Foundation will seek to assess needs in these areas and possible donors from industry to meet these needs. All WCPS High Schools will implement Project Based Learning and provide broad access to all curriculum and experiential learning opportunities.
  3. Safety and Well-being of students
    • Through partnerships with local law enforcement, the Foundation will
      secure grants and donations to promote safety and well-being for students.
    • The Foundation will communicate with schools through counselors and family resource center managers to assist with needs related to students’ physical and mental health wellness and identify potential partners in the
      healthcare industry as donors.
  4. Teachers and Staff supported to offer the highest quality instruction and
    experience for students

    • Through designated donations and gifts, teachers and staff can access
      means to support additional educational pursuits, training, certifications and degrees so their potential is fully utilized to provide high quality learning and environments for students.
  5. The Future – Innovations not yet known
    • In order to sustain the Foundation, it is necessary to utilize up to a 5%
      reinvestment from donations and gifts to support the Foundation over time. As the Foundation’s value and worth grows, the Foundation will assess how to best invest funds in a meaningful and impactful way to promote growth and optimization.
